How to support Mates Fund

You can direct your donation to one of our core programs:

  • Mates Fiji — community-led education and infrastructure projects

  • Mates Pakistan — education-focused initiatives delivered with local partners

  • Mates in Crisis — ethical disaster response and resilience building

This allows you to support work aligned with your interests or values. General donations allow us to respond flexibly to community priorities and emerging needs across programs.

Ongoing support

Regular giving provides stable, predictable support for long-term work. Ongoing contributions help fund project planning, delivery, and response when needs arise.

You can adjust or pause ongoing support at any time.

Project-based or partnership support

Individuals, businesses, and groups can also support Mates Fund through:

  • project sponsorship

  • program partnerships

  • in-kind or skills-based support

If you’re interested in supporting our work in a more tailored way, we’re always open to a conversation.

Work With Us

Why give?

  • Community-led, not externally driven

Projects are shaped by local partners and community priorities — not by outside agendas or short-term funding cycles.

  • 100% volunteer-run

Mates Fund has no paid staff, board, or consultants. All planning, coordination, and governance is carried out by volunteers.

  • Transparent by design

Donations are used for project delivery, with clear communication about where funds go and why decisions are made.

  • Practical, achievable projects

We prioritise work that can be delivered responsibly and maintained locally, rather than large-scale or symbolic initiatives.

  • Long-term relationships, not one-off interventions

Our work is grounded in trust built over time, allowing programs to evolve with community needs.

  • Ethical response to crisis and climate impacts

Through Mates in Crisis, we support responsible emergency response and long-term resilience — guided by local leadership, not urgency alone.

Our Positive Impact
Classroom scene with students wearing white headscarves seated at desks listening to three male teachers at the front, with a whiteboard and world map on the wall.
Two women are sitting at a table inside a wooden shelter. One woman is sewing on a sewing machine, while the other woman is handing her a piece of fabric. The table has various sewing supplies, including fabric pieces with colorful designs, scissors, a coffee cup, and an instructional book. A green towel hangs on the wall, and the shelter has a corrugated metal roof.
