Giving, handled carefully

When you give to mates fund, you are trusting us to turn generosity to support on the ground and we take that seriously. Mates Fund is a registered charity with the Australian Charity and Non-For-Profits Commission - no easy feat for a small operation. This accreditation has high transparency standards and requires accountability for every dollar used and we also take that seriously.

Your donation will enable Mates Fund to support people and communities around the world. We are led by the communities who build and manage the projects we support and the money you donate goes straight to paying reputable suppliers to get that work done.

We keep our model intentionally lean, no pay for board members or consultants. Our planning, coordination, administration and governance are all carried out by volunteers - to read between the lines - every donated dollar goes to the project.

Where your donation goes

You can find more information about specific projects in the projects page - but generally - 100% of donations goes directly to project work on community-led initiatives. This means that instead of paying middlemen we go straight to the hardware store, school, lodgings, tank providers etc. to get projects done.

You can give to a specific project or make a general donation which we will use where funding is most needed across our work. You can always send us an email to ask questions, request updates or to learn more. We value that cost of living is high and you work hard for your money - rest assured that we will use it to action real change.
